Attack on Odessa kills three children and injures 11 more
On the night of June 28, Odesa again became the object of a massive air attack, which resulted in human tragedies, ruined destinies and the involvement of all services in the fight to stabilize the situation. According to official information from the head of the Odessa Regional Military Administration, Oleg Kiper, the number of victims of enemy drone strikes has reached 14 people, three of whom are children, and three adults are in serious condition. All of them are currently being treated in a hospital, several more patients are receiving medical care on an outpatient basis. According to OKIPPO, the health condition of the most affected is critical, so doctors are making every effort to stabilize them. This tragedy was preceded by a large-scale night use of Russian drones. According to operational information from the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Russians launched 23 Shahed attack drones and simulator drones across Ukraine. The air defense managed to shoot down the attackers with 22 drones, but one of them, as well as the fragments of the downed targets, hit cities and infrastructure. The attack in Odessa was particularly brutal, where Russian drones targeted a 21-story residential building. As a result of the hit, a fire broke out on floors 7, 8, and 9, blocking the exit from many apartments. As a result, a couple tragically died, and two children were among the injured. A 7-year-old boy received moderate injuries, and his three-year-old brother was poisoned by combustion products and suffered other complications. The scale of the destruction complicated the situation, as dozens of residents were trapped in their apartments. In general, according to local services, the destruction of residential buildings and infrastructure in Odessa has become one of the largest in recent times. The authorities once again call on residents to remain calm and adhere to safety rules, and all services to promptly respond to the consequences of the attacks. The situation remains under control, but the danger after the night strikes remains high. The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to provide all possible support to the victims and work to eliminate the consequences of the enemy's missile and drone attacks.
