The Logistics Forces Command of Ukraine officially commented on the approved internal audit regarding illegal actions with fuel in military units

In response to the publication of "Ukrainian Truth" regarding large-scale theft of fuel in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Logistics Forces Command made an official statement describing the results of the internal audit and the measures taken. According to official sources, the leadership of the Logistics Forces responded to the material published at the end of March 2025 and confirmed that the internal audit was conducted from March 31 to April 2, 2025 in accordance with the order of the commander. Its purpose was to establish the circumstances and causes of possible violations in military unit A 1587 - the very one that was the focus of the investigation. It is indicated that the commission completed its work and submitted its conclusions to the pre-trial investigation bodies, namely the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI). As reported by the command, the inspection revealed facts of violations, some of which were confirmed by official documents. As a result, the materials were included in the criminal proceedings against officials of the military unit. In particular, the actions of the former commander of the unit, Colonel Elkhan Soltanov, are being investigated. At the same time, the command itself added that as of November 2024, this officer was at the disposal of the commander of the logistics forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and was not present at his new place of service. According to sources, his failure to appear was the basis for entering information into the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations into the fact of failure to fulfill the military oath or denial of admission to service, and since March 2025, Soltanov has been officially suspended from military service. In addition, the commentary emphasizes that all legal procedural steps within the framework of the criminal proceedings regarding the case of military unit A 1587 are currently being carried out by the courts. The responsible services emphasize that decisions regarding suspects and charges are entirely within the competence of law enforcement agencies and the court. They note that the courts have the right to impose the final sentence and determine guilt or innocence in the case. We will remind you that on June 26 of this year, Ukrainska Pravda published an investigation into large-scale fuel theft schemes in a military unit in the Lviv region. The material contained testimonies from six former military personnel of the Center for the Provision of Military and Technical Property, who, with varying degrees of anonymity, confessed to large-scale thefts. They spoke about an organized system of thefts, interference in logistical processes, and artificial overestimation of the amount of stolen fuel. Only one of the speakers — the former deputy commander of the unit, Colonel Elkhan Soltanov — agreed to announce his name. In 2024, the police have already opened cases against suspects in the theft of military fuel, including a staff sergeant from the same center, who was taken into custody with the right to post bail. The charges concerned two employees who are privates in the military structure, but most whistleblowers claim that the unit commander, Mykola Senyshak, was behind the organization's infrastructure. In response to the charges, he denies any connection with the thefts and refuses to comment on the situation, hanging up the phone. In general, the situation during the investigation is gaining momentum, and military structures confirm that the fight against corruption in the military sector will continue until all those involved in the criminal schemes are brought to justice in accordance with the law.
