The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced the complete clearing of the Pokrovsk direction from Russian sabotage and assault groups
General Oleksandr Syrsky confirmed the successful destruction of the enemy’s sabotage and assault formations that had been trying to break through the front line in the Pokrovsk direction for the past two weeks. In his official message published on the Telegram channel, he emphasized that the situation is now under the control of the Ukrainian troops, and the enemy’s fire activity has been largely undermined. During a working visit to one of the hottest sections of the extensive front, which stretches for over 1,200 kilometers, Syrsky emphasized that this zone remained particularly tense. According to him, the daily level of combat clashes here reaches at least fifty — the military is constantly stopping the enemy’s offensives, which, according to information, has concentrated the largest combat group in this territory — about 111 thousand servicemen. This confirms the strategic importance of the Pokrovsky direction, where the Russians seek not only to achieve operational goals, but also to create the impression of relentless activity. Syrsky stressed that attempts to break through to the administrative border of the Donetsk region, although persistent, were thwarted by the Ukrainian defenders with the last of their strength. "Russian sabotage and assault groups attacked this area especially actively two weeks ago. However, they were all destroyed or thrown back. We neutralized the remaining saboteurs or threw them far from the administrative border line. The situation is stabilized and under control," the commander assured. In addition, he held meetings with officers and in units of the Armed Forces and the National Guard, carefully studied the operational situation, identified potential problems and gave the necessary orders to strengthen defensive measures and increase the effectiveness of countering the enemy. Such measures are aimed at preserving and strengthening the defense, preventing new breakthroughs and maintaining the fighting spirit of the troops. We remind you that earlier the General Staff reported: over the past day, Ukrainian defenders in the Pokrovsky direction managed to stop 56 enemy assault attacks in the areas of the settlements of Poltavka, Malynivka, Shevchenko Pershe, Myrne, Myrolyubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Novomykolaivka, Kotlyarivka, Myrnograd, Novoserhiivka, Udachne, Oleksiivka, Novoukrainka, Kotlyne, Muravka and Zeleny Kut. The troops successfully suppressed enemy attacks, which indicates the preservation of a high level of combat readiness of the Ukrainian defenders even in the most tense sectors of the front. Such a level of resistance is the result of coordinated actions and perseverance of the military command, which is irreconcilably fighting for every centimeter of Ukrainian land.
