Russian drones strike Kharkiv again — city infrastructure under attack
On June 27, Kharkiv was again under hostile drone fire, the second strike on the city in a day was recorded by local and state officials. This is the second case in a day when Russian drones have targeted the civilian population and infrastructure of Kharkiv, which once again emphasizes the growing aggressiveness of the occupation forces towards peaceful cities of Ukraine. According to official information from the city mayor Igor Terekhov and the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Oleg Synegubov, the situation remained tense. Terekhov reported: “Almost immediately after the first strike on the industrial district of Kharkiv, when two cars were damaged, new information appeared about another arrival. Unfortunately, the exact location of the strike and the type of combat drone are currently being clarified, but specialized services continue to work in the city to investigate the consequences in more detail.” Details of the incident indicate that the day before, the occupiers had attacked a transport corridor in the Industrial District of the city, which caused significant destruction and generally disturbed the peace of local residents. According to preliminary data, several cars were damaged, but there were no casualties among civilians - this information is confirmed by the final inspection and work on the spot. Subsequently, Mayor Terekhov noted that the Ukrainian defense forces were able to shoot down this enemy drone as it approached the city. “According to the updated information, the drone was destroyed by air defense forces on its approach,” the city head said. “This is another example of the fact that Ukrainian defenders are doing everything possible every day to ensure the safety of Kharkiv and its residents, but the enemy continues these terror tactics.” The shelling of Kharkiv by Russia has occurred quite regularly since the beginning of the full-scale war and is a reminder of the long-term struggle of the Ukrainian people for their independence and security. Local authorities urge residents to be careful, follow safety rules, and actively cooperate with law enforcement and defense structures to quickly respond to such threats. At the same time, the Ukrainian defense forces are improving their anti-aircraft system in order to intercept and destroy all threats from the air as quickly as possible.
