In the combat zone in eastern Ukraine, significant personnel changes have taken place in the 72nd separate motorized infantry brigade named after the Black Zaporozhians. After a long period of command by Colonel Oleksandr Okhrimenko, a new commander has taken office - Lieutenant Colonel Roman Reitor, who has already gained a well-deserved reputation among the personnel for his combat experience and leadership qualities. This decision is of important strategic importance for the defense capability of the brigade, which has been holding the defense and holding back pro-Russian forces in front of the Dnipropetrovsk region for many months. According to representatives of the formation, the new commander, Lieutenant Colonel Roman Reitor, is an officer with solid combat experience who has proven himself to be highly professional and authoritative among his subordinates. He comes to office at a time when the brigade continues its efforts to hold strategic positions, particularly in a region traditionally considered key to the country’s defense. In his comments, he noted that during several months of fighting in Vuhledar, Kherson region and other hot spots, his brigade suffered heavy losses, but remained loyal to the oath, Ukraine and its paratroopers, friends and comrades. “We experienced the loss of health, nerves and loved ones, but despite everything we continued to hold our positions. It was a difficult path – with losses and experiences, but we remained one team. During this time, I learned to appreciate each fighter, to understand that only together we are able to win,” he noted in his farewell speech. The new generation commander, Lieutenant Colonel Roman Reitor, already has considerable combat experience, having completed combat training and participated in large-scale operations, which adds confidence in his ability to lead the brigade in difficult times of war. According to sources, he enjoys high authority among the personnel, has received support and trust from the command and military ranks. The change of leadership in the 72nd brigade takes place against the backdrop of ongoing hostilities and the need to strengthen the defensive coordination of military units. The military say that the new commander has every chance to continue the successful defense of Ukrainian land, strengthen combat communications and increase the mobility and combat capability of the unit. The understanding of the military collective, which holds the defense in front of the Dnipropetrovsk region, is thoroughly imbued with faith in victory and unity. That is why each change in leadership is perceived not only as a new stage in the history of the brigade, but also as a sign of the desire for new achievements and gaining an advantage in this long and difficult war.
