A successful strike by Ukrainian drone forces on a rare high-tech enemy military equipment once again confirmed the growing role and effectiveness of drones on the battlefield. This time, we are talking about the destruction of a North Korean M1991 multiple launch rocket system, which became an important symbol of the growing technological potential of the Russian troops and confirmation of the ability of the Ukrainian command to effectively neutralize the enemy's high-tech weapons. The destruction of a North Korean M1991 MLRS took place in the Novopavlovsk direction and was recorded by the "Reid" unit - the 413th battalion of drones, which has repeatedly proven its ability to operate effectively in combat conditions. According to the official press service of the Unmanned Systems Forces, the operators detected the target in time using a strike drone and delivered a precise strike, which caused its complete destruction. The strike occurred directly in the system's launcher, which led to an internal explosion of the ammunition and the sequential detonation of all shells. According to the military, the strike was precisely calculated and with maximum efficiency - the drone hit one of the shell packages, which caused an internal explosion, damaging the crew cabin through and through and causing the destruction of the entire combat vehicle with ammunition inside. "The strike was as accurate as possible - the drone hit a shell in the guide package, which caused an internal explosion. The crew cabin was actually pierced through, and then all the ammunition exploded," the press service reported. The M1991 is a modernized analogue of the Soviet "Hurricane", developed in the DPRK. They differ significantly in caliber and range - the caliber of the new system is 240 mm, and the maximum possible firing range is up to 60 kilometers. This made it one of the most modern systems in the enemy's arsenal, which was first confirmed by open video evidence in April 2025, when footage of its use was made public. This successful armed strike clearly demonstrates the crucial role of unmanned systems in modern military conflicts. They not only help to safely and effectively scout enemy targets, but also provide targeted pinpoint strikes on the enemy's high-tech weapons. According to military experts, Ukrainian strike drones have already proven their ability to effectively destroy even the most difficult-to-neutralize systems.
