The Armed Forces of Ukraine have stabilized the situation in Sumy Oblast: Russia’s advance has been stopped, the front line is under the control of Ukrainian troops

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrsky, confidently noted that the Russian troops have stopped their advance in the border areas of Sumy Oblast, and the battle line has been stabilized. This was the result of decisive actions by Ukrainian units, which are successfully applying the tactics of active defense, liberating Ukrainian land and reducing the threat of further escalation of the conflict in the region. According to Syrsky, in some sections of the front, the Ukrainian military not only restrained and stopped the enemy, but also conducted offensive operations in the Glushkov district of the Kursk region. This, according to him, forced the enemy to transfer part of its forces to protect its own territory, which significantly reduced its opportunities for further offensive in the direction of Sumy Oblast. Including during targeted actions, elite brigades of the Russian Airborne Forces and Marines were directed, which clearly demonstrated the endurance and effectiveness of the Ukrainian defense. These efforts have yielded results — in particular, in the Pivtsynchoslobozhansk and Kursk directions, the Ukrainian military has re-chained about 50 thousand Russian troops. This means that the enemy was forced to switch resources to defending its positions in other areas, which made it more difficult for a large-scale offensive from these directions. The head of the defense department noted that in order to protect the civilian population and infrastructure in the region, a special defense group has been created, which is responsible for strengthening fortifications and preparing cities and communities of Sumy region for possible aggression. As part of these measures, engineering systems are already being expanded, fortifications are being erected, and new defense systems are being created. A responsible person has been appointed to coordinate these measures and guarantee their effectiveness in the event of further shelling or an enemy attack. Recall that on June 24, the State Border Guard Service reported a moderate decrease in the activity of the Russian occupiers in the region, with the exception of certain areas between the Yunakivska and Khotynska communities, where the danger to the local population probably remained. And earlier, on June 14, President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that the defense forces had liberated Andriyivka, one of the important points in the combat zone, which became another proof of the success of the Ukrainian resistance and systematic work to maintain strategic heights. Thus, the situation in the Sumy region remains under the control of the Ukrainian troops. They not only restrain the enemy's advance, but also conduct active defense, which contributes to the stabilization of the front and the preservation of security for the local population. This gives grounds to assert that the strategy of the Ukrainian command is generally successful, and any attempts by the Russian troops to increase the pressure in this part of the country are currently experiencing significant difficulties.
