In Lviv, the Shevchenkivskyi District Court released the contents of the mobile phone of Vyacheslav Zinchenko, suspected of causing the death of the famous linguist Iryna Farion. The details of the disclosure are a real source of shock and anxiety for the public, because not only personal photos, memes and geographical screenshots of the city were found in the accused's smartphone, but also a lot of materials indicating his possible intentions and attitude to the world around him. According to information received from the courtroom, investigators found several screenshots of a map of Lviv on Zinchenko's phone, where key locations are marked - the Lviv Polytechnic National University, the popular Yura Square, Chornovola Avenue, Zamarstynivska Street and the house at Masaryka, 3, where Iryna Farion lived. This information can be perceived as a preparatory stage for possible criminal acts or as a trace tool for determining landmarks. In addition to geographical images, images with Nazi and pro-Russian symbols were found on the phone, such as swastikas, portraits of Hitler, FSB logos, Russian "Z", a giant St. George ribbon and neo-Nazi slogans. According to Zinchenko, these memes are simply part of his personal collection and do not reflect his views. Although an image mocking Iryna Farion was also found on the phone, it was taken after the crime and a couple of hours before the arrest, which may indicate the emotional state and possible motives of the suspect. The suspect's lawyer, Ihor Sulima, noted that the photos, in which the woman resembles Farion, have not yet undergone forensic examination and it is currently difficult to state with guaranteed accuracy that it is she. This once again emphasizes the uncertainty and the need for a more detailed study of the images. Another shocking discovery was a photo of a weapon in the phone - the suspect, under the nickname "Paranoik", corresponded about the possibility of converting a "Stalker 2914 UK" pistol, priced at about 3,100 hryvnias. According to the prosecutor, Zinchenko already in late March - early April 2024 - purchased a converted "Stalker 2906" pistol on behalf of "Robin Hood" for 4,000 hryvnias. His planning of the alleged criminal acts is also confirmed by notes in the phone, in which he discussed the possibility of hiding from the investigation, surveillance of objects and the necessary equipment for this. While examining the cloud storage, investigators found a PDF file with the name "Farion Iryna Dmytrivna", updated on March 6, 2024. It contained biographical data about the victim, her documents and place of work. No less worrying are the documents from the dossier on other prominent political and public figures: Dnipro Mayor Borys Filatov, blogger and volunteer Serhiy Sternenko, and businessman Hennadiy Korban. The next court hearing in this case is scheduled for July 21 at 11 a.m. The public and law enforcement officers are waiting for further investigation, but it is already obvious that clarifying Zinchenko's motives and plans opens up many new risks and challenges for the security of the city and the country as a whole.
