On the night of June 26, a Russian suicide drone struck civilians in Donetsk region again. In the Belozersk district, in the south of the region, a small five-story residential building was damaged by a sudden air attack. Five civilians were injured in the incident, including a 15-year-old teenager, his mother, and an elderly woman. According to information provided by the regional prosecutor's office, the attack occurred at approximately 2 a.m. At that time, a loud explosion was heard in the city, after which a fire broke out, which quickly engulfed part of the building. The source of the attack was identified as a Geran-2 drone belonging to Russian military security forces. The strike damaged several apartments and partially destroyed the facades of buildings. The most painful aspect of the air attack was that civilians were among the wounded, suffering from mine-related injuries: tissue damage, bruises, closed fractures, shrapnel wounds, abrasions, and burns. The injured were quickly taken to regional hospitals. According to local doctors, they all received the necessary medical care. The injuries of an 86-year-old pensioner, as well as a young man and his mother, are particularly serious. This indicates that the shelling was not only focused on residents, but also caused significant mental and physical stress among city residents. In addition to the direct casualties, the strike caused significant damage to the surrounding infrastructure. Thus, the attack destroyed three multi-story residential complexes and damaged seven vehicles parked next to the buildings. This negatively affected the lives of residents who were left without housing and the ability to use their transport. The investigation of this incident was launched by the Donetsk regional prosecutor's office. They have already opened criminal proceedings under the article Violation of the laws and customs of war (Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). It is expected that all circumstances of the attack will be established, as well as the perpetrators will be brought to justice in accordance with the current legislation of Ukraine. It is believed that this attack is another evidence of systemic violations by the Russian military in the occupied territories, which is causing significant human and material losses among the residents of the region.
