The National Guard of Ukraine insists on a strict investigation into the incident that occurred on June 13 in Ivano-Frankivsk, when an officer of the 12th Azov Special Forces Brigade, Andriy Korinevych, was attacked. The military departments expressed their strong condemnation of any violent actions against servicemen, regardless of their units or ranks, and emphasized that the event is unacceptable for the modern army of Ukraine. The official statement of the National Guard is unequivocal: they support law enforcement officers in their efforts to conduct an objective and impartial investigation, and will make efforts to establish all the circumstances and bring the perpetrators to justice in accordance with the law. According to law enforcement agencies, at the moment all suspects in the attack have already been identified, and investigative and operational-search measures aimed at bringing them to justice are ongoing. The NGU emphasized that in this situation it is especially important to maintain unity: “We must remember that our main enemy is the Russian Federation. And our common task is to confront the enemy in unity.” The agencies promised close cooperation with law enforcement agencies to comprehensively clarify the circumstances of the incident and make a legal assessment of the actions of all those involved. The background to the conflict is of particular importance. Andriy Korynevych, a serviceman of the Azov brigade, reported that he was attacked by a group of two soldiers of the Third Separate Assault Brigade. He named the attackers — Semyon Klok and Vasyl Bondarenko — people who had previously been brought to justice, and added that another participant — Maksym Bilogub — took part in the attack, and also mentioned another soldier, Serhiy Tsyganchuk. Korynevych is convinced that the commander of the 3rd Army Corps, Andriy Biletsky, hid the attackers. At the time of publication, neither the Third Assault Brigade itself nor the corps command had commented on themselves. On June 25, the prosecutor's office reported suspicions to two servicemen involved in the attack and stated that the possible involvement of other individuals in this audacious case was being investigated. Meanwhile, the military formation itself has not yet issued an official reaction or made any comments on the situation. Military officials responsible for the security of the actions and maintaining discipline emphasize that they will act within the law, and all those responsible will be brought to justice. This event once again emphasizes the importance of unity in military circles and staying focused on defending the country and maintaining internal discipline. At the same time, it raises concerns about the level of interaction between units and internal conflicts that can undermine morale and distort the common goals of the Ukrainian army - the fight against the external enemy and the protection of the independence of the state.
