Enhanced security measures continue in the center of Kyiv: police and SBU conduct checks and traffic restrictions
Planned security operations are underway in the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kyiv, aimed at strengthening the city's protection from possible terrorist threats. As part of these measures, employees of the Security Service of Ukraine, the National Police and other units of the country's defense system are involved in the work. The purpose of immunizing public space is to check the anti-terrorist and counter-sabotage readiness of places of mass gathering of people, as well as to identify potentially dangerous objects and prepare for possible emergencies. The source of information is the SBU press service, which emphasizes that such measures are completely planned and are designed based on modern security realities. During operations, law enforcement officers carefully inspect both public spaces and individual housing facilities, office premises, public institutions and infrastructure facilities. In particular, attention is paid to inspections in apartment buildings, shops, cafes and other places of mass gathering of people. As part of the command-and-operational actions, law enforcement officers conduct inspections of territories, buildings and premises in order to identify prohibited items and substances that may pose a threat to the safety of citizens. In addition, police officers check documents from passers-by, including drivers and passengers of vehicles, and also assess the level of anti-terrorist protection of existing infrastructure facilities. It is noted that during these events, temporary restrictions on traffic and pedestrians, inspections of vehicles and checks of citizens' documents are possible. The SBU calls on city residents to be understanding of possible inconveniences, to have identification documents with them, and to adhere to established rules of conduct, including a curfew, if one is introduced. Officially, the department assures that all actions of law enforcement agencies are carried out in strict accordance with the law and with respect for the rights and freedoms of citizens, and their goal is to ensure security and stability in the capital of Ukraine. The public is urged to be understanding of such measures, as they are part of a system of preventive measures that help prevent possible emergencies and ensure the peaceful life of Kyiv residents.
