Kostyantynivka on the brink of humanitarian catastrophe: Russian shelling exacerbates the situation

In Donetsk region, the situation in Kostyantynivka is worsening due to systematic Russian shelling, which leads to the complete destruction of vital infrastructure and threatens the lives of thousands of residents. According to the head of the Donetsk regional military administration, Vadym Filashkin, the city is on the brink of a humanitarian catastrophe, as most residents are left without electricity, gas, water and stable transport connections. According to an official representative, as a result of the strikes, more than half of Kostyantynivka was left without electricity. Part of the destruction was also the transport infrastructure: city buses have been damaged and suburban routes to Druzhkivka are operating with great restrictions. Currently, the city is supplied with only 12 wells with water purification systems from 11 reservoirs and water storage tanks - enough for only 20-25% of the population's needs, and water supply is carried out once a day from 17:00 to 20:00. Another important aspect is that 1.9 thousand houses in the Santurynivka district remain without gas - it is currently impossible to restore its supply due to the destruction of gas networks. In addition to gas, residents are facing a shortage of electricity, due to which many services and enterprises are not working. There are 5 invincibility points in the city, two more are in standby mode, but military aggression is destroying this system of supporting the population. Despite these critical conditions, the armed forces, doctors, utilities, police and local authorities in the city continue to work to help residents and stabilize the situation. However, the main issue is the evacuation of the population. Vadym Filashkin emphasizes that this is not just a choice, but a matter of life and death, because the preservation of human lives depends on rapid and organized evacuation activities. To organize the evacuation of the population and provide assistance, the city authorities call on residents to contact the relevant services at the following phone numbers: 0-800-500-121, +380730500121 (Viber, WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal). For those who are sick, the number 0800332614 is available, and for assistance to the seriously ill - the contacts of the Konstantinovka VA: 050 567 88 87, 093 420 18 83. Meanwhile, the situation with the destruction of critical infrastructure continues to be one of the most difficult in the region, and the long-term consequences of the destruction cast doubt on the rapid restoration of vital systems in the near future. People were faced with the choice of survival in conditions of complete destruction of basic services and the constant threat of new shelling.
