Ukrainians evacuated from Iran successfully: large-scale rescue operation completed
The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, completed one of the most complex and tense evacuation operations. On June 24, 31 Ukrainian citizens were evacuated from dangerous areas of Iran — including five men, twelve women, and fourteen children, who are now heading to Kyiv. This success was the result of the coordinated work of Ukrainian agencies in close cooperation with international partners and diplomats, as well as cover from the country's leadership. The operation to rescue Ukrainians was the final stage of a large-scale and carefully planned program aimed at evacuating Ukrainian citizens from high-risk areas, in particular from Israel and Iran. According to representatives of the Main Intelligence Directorate, thanks to the coordinated actions of the teams and the support of international structures, all evacuees were able to safely cross the borders, transiting through Azerbaijan to Moldova. At the moment, military and diplomatic elites are waiting for them in the capital of Ukraine to ensure further escort home. This rescue mission was a logical continuation of previous operations that took place in various regions, in particular from Israel, where 176 people were evacuated from the territory of this country, 133 of whom were Ukrainian citizens. All of them passed safely to their places of temporary residence, ensuring not only the physical protection of Ukrainians, but also psychological comfort at a critical moment. According to the Ukrainian Embassy in Iran, Ukrainian citizens who are currently in the territory of the Islamic Republic and intend to return home are urged to contact diplomatic missions. If necessary, they will be able to receive advice and support on further actions that will facilitate their return. In general, Ukrainian special services and the diplomatic corps demonstrated high professionalism and efficiency in rescuing their citizens in difficult conditions of international conflict and a tense cross-border situation. This is evidence of coordinated work in protecting and supporting Ukrainians abroad at the most critical moments.
