Ukrainian Navy shoots down 20 enemy “Shaheds” in one night
On the night of June 24, the Ukrainian Navy repelled a large-scale air attack by Russian occupation forces, in particular, shooting down 20 unmanned aerial vehicles of the "Shahed-136" type. According to official information provided by the press service of the Navy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Telegram, these actions were a response to a night attack aimed at terrorizing and damaging military infrastructure and civilian infrastructure in coastal areas. According to the military, the use of modern air defense systems made it possible to destroy all targets, except for a few that were disrupted due to the high speed and difficulty of tracking kamikaze drones. The operation lasted several hours and demonstrated the high professionalism and coordination of the Ukrainian military command, which actively uses the latest technologies to counter unfriendly drones. "Tonight, during an air attack by the Russian occupiers, 20 enemy kamikaze drones 'SHAHED-136' were shot down by the forces and means of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine," the military said in a statement. These drones are used by Russian troops for targeted strikes on Ukrainian territory, including the coast, causing significant psychological and material damage. According to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, such incidents once again demonstrate the high level of training of Ukrainian military aviation and air defense. At the same time, the Ukrainian military calls on the civilian population to remain safe and follow the recommendations for shelter during further air alerts. This night attack was yet another confirmation that Russian troops are actively deploying the latest kamikaze drones as part of the so-called "terror campaign" against Ukraine.
