Trump announces ceasefire between Israel and Iran: Middle East tensions temporarily ease

US President Donald Trump has made a sharp statement about reaching a temporary ceasefire between Israel and Iran, which he said has every chance of developing into a lasting truce. In information published on social networks, he noted that both countries have agreed to such a decision, and the process of its implementation should begin within a few hours. In his speech, Trump expressed hope that this step will become the foundation for lasting peace in the region, despite months of tension and hostilities. “Israel and Iran have fully agreed to a general and comprehensive ceasefire,” Trump said. He said that about six hours after the official announcement, both countries will end their current military operations, and it will be time for a 12-hour ceasefire. According to the US President, it is after this, in accordance with the agreed scenario, that a period of adaptation and further negotiations will be implemented, and the war itself, lasting 12 days with initial escalations and conflicts, will finally end. “The information about the official start of a ceasefire between Iran and Israel is an important step in the cooperation of these two countries and will be the first chance in many years to stabilize the situation in the region,” Trump stressed. He emphasized that such a step could last for years and cause large-scale destruction and human losses, but thanks to the efforts of diplomats and an informed approach, the war was stopped and, apparently, will not happen again. The background to the conflict shows that tensions in the region have not decreased since the beginning of the summer. In particular, on June 23, Iranian forces fired at least 10 missiles at military facilities housing US troops in Qatar, which was another act of attack, possibly in response to US missile strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities. According to reports, the air defense system intercepted the attacks, preventing potential casualties and reducing the scale of the destruction. After these events, the Trump administration made an official statement that Iran responded to the US military intervention with a “very weak response”. Officials explained that although the situation remains tense, an agreement on a temporary ceasefire has now been reached, which could be the first step in stabilizing the region and creating the conditions for long-term peace. Analyzing Trump’s statement, experts believe that this step is the result of persistent diplomatic efforts and international pressure. At the same time, many analysts emphasize that maintaining such a truce is only the first phase in a long struggle to stabilize the Middle East, given the deep history of conflict and the diversity of interests in the region. However, for now, not only the guns and missiles have calmed down, but also the tension in diplomatic circles over the future prospects for peace.
