The Russian occupiers have once again used suicide drones to strike Ukrainian armed forces facilities, this time at a training center of the Ground Forces in Chernihiv region. As a result of this attack, one serviceman was injured and is currently undergoing treatment, while other soldiers successfully avoided serious losses thanks to effective security measures and coordinated actions of personnel. According to the information published on Facebook by the Ground Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the attack took place on June 24. A group of Shahed suicide drones broke into the territory of one of the training centers located in Chernihiv region. As explained in a comment to Ukrainy Pravda by the head of the communications department of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Colonel Vitaliy Sarantsev, the attack was quite staged and, despite the complexity of the situation, the Ukrainian military acted in accordance with established protocols. The command emphasizes that they successfully applied a whole range of preventive measures, which allowed them to avoid large-scale losses and save the lives of personnel. The armed forces use modern air defense systems and apply carefully developed algorithms for actions in case of alarms, which allows them to minimize the consequences of attacks and delay the enemy's penetration of critically important objects. Currently, the wounded soldier is receiving the necessary medical care in a medical facility. According to representatives of the command, the military is increasing the level of protection and strengthening security measures to prevent any further damage and maintain stability in the region. The Ukrainian Armed Forces Command calls on all servicemen to remain vigilant, strictly adhere to safety protocols and clearly execute training algorithms during alarms, as only coordinated and rapid responses can reduce the possible damage caused by the enemy. At the same time, Ukrainian defense officials emphasize that Russia continues to use kamikaze drones to destabilize the situation and cause significant damage to Ukrainian infrastructure. It should be noted that such attacks are not isolated: since the beginning of the large-scale invasion, the aggressor has been actively using these drones to destroy military facilities, individual civilian infrastructure, and to exert psychological pressure on the population. Ukraine is responding to these challenges, improving air defense systems, and strengthening security measures to protect its military and citizens from new enemy incursions.
