Russia launches new night attack on Kharkiv using Geran-2 drones
On the night of June 23-24, the Russian occupiers attacked Kharkiv again, using Geran-2 drones. The Kharkiv regional prosecutor's office reported this, emphasizing that this is not the first such attack in recent weeks, and police and military experts are actively working to clarify all the details and the scale of the destruction. According to Spartak Borisenko, head of the department for combating crimes committed in the context of armed conflict, the shelling of the city began at 2 a.m., which lasted several hours and was typical of regular armed actions by Russian forces. Borisenko added that the occupiers first targeted the Nemyshlyansky and Saltivsky districts of the city, where civilian objects — residential buildings, private households, and commercial establishments — were damaged during the strike. At the moment, it is known that the Russian troops used Geran-2 drones, which are used for reconnaissance and strikes on targets in the rear, to carry out the attack. The People's Inspector also confirmed that these drones are widely used by the enemy as part of the current tactics of intimidation and destruction of the infrastructure of peaceful residents. Local authorities and law enforcement agencies have already launched an investigation into the incident to establish the exact number of damage and casualties, as well as take the necessary measures to prevent similar attacks in the future. This is not the first time that Kharkiv has become a target of enemy strikes as part of the large-scale war that continues in eastern Ukraine, and tempers local residents in readiness for new challenges. At the same time, it is a reminder of the complexity and level of tension prevailing in the region, and the need to consolidate efforts to protect the civilian population and the residential sector from attacks by the aggressor.
