Over 6,000 evacuated residents remain in the Kupyansk direction
Over 6,000 people remain in the combat and evacuation zones in the Kupyansk direction, reports the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleg Synegubov. In an interview with a telethon, he noted that the situation on this front remains extremely tense. According to him, the enemy is actively trying to break through the defenses of the Ukrainian military, carrying out attacks, but without significant success. The most difficult situation remains in the Kupyansk district, where the occupiers are conducting active combat operations and purposefully destroying critical infrastructure. In total, today there are still 6,063 residents in the evacuation zone in the Kupyansk direction, including 1,431 people in the city of Kupyansk. According to regional authorities, on average, from 10 to 50 people leave the region per day, seeking safe shelter in safer places. It is noted that the evacuation is being carried out from the Kupyansk and Izyumsk districts, where the situation is currently particularly tense. The head of the region added that ensuring the stable operation of municipal services in the city of Kupyansk is an extremely difficult task, and in the areas of the left bank of the river, the situation is actually complicated to the limit: "The enemy is systematically and purposefully shelling critical infrastructure, attacking repair teams, units of the State Emergency Service and ambulance. This causes significant difficulties in maintaining vital services." In total, another 1,621 people need to be evacuated from the Borova community, and 1,359 from Shevchenkivska. Oleg Synegubov emphasized that evacuation measures are ongoing, because safe living conditions for residents are far from being created, and efforts are aimed at the fastest and safest possible evacuation of civilians from the zone of active hostilities and destruction. Local authorities are urging residents to be as cautious as possible and to prioritize evacuation in order to save lives during this difficult time.
