Last night, the Sumy region again faced large-scale enemy aggression. According to the regional police, the day before midnight, Russian troops carried out a massive drone strike on one of the villages of the Verkhnyosyrovatsk community of the Sumy district, which caused terrible consequences for the civilian population and infrastructure. According to law enforcement officials, the attack killed three civilians, including a small child, an eight-year-old boy, who was pulled out of the rubble of a destroyed house during a rescue operation. In addition to the child, according to police, a woman and a man from different families died - their time came on this starry night. Six more people were injured to varying degrees of severity, three of them children. All the victims were immediately taken to the nearest medical facilities and are receiving qualified assistance. The radical strikes also caused significant material damage and large-scale fires. About 30 residential buildings were damaged in the village, four vehicles were destroyed or partially damaged. The fatal consequences were accompanied by the appearance of a large-scale fire at the scene, which further complicates the situation for rescuers. Police investigative and operational groups, rescuers and medics are working at the scene of the tragedy, who are performing their duties in a coordinated manner. Materials for the investigation and settlement of the situation are being transferred to the competent services with all responsibility. The details of this tragedy are still being clarified, but it is already known that enemy shelling caused another human disaster in another district of the Sumy region. In general, the night attack confirms the constant threat to the civilian population in the Sumy region, where Russian military aggression has been ongoing for many months. Local authorities and law enforcement officers urge residents to be cautious, remain calm and follow safety recommendations, as well as actively promote the unification of communities to overcome the consequences of armed aggression.
