Lieutenant General Alexus Hrinkiewicz, who was recently nominated by the US to be the commander of NATO forces in Europe, expressed his belief in the US Senate that Ukraine has every chance of winning an armed conflict with Russia. His words were heard during hearings organized to determine the prospects for development and possible scenarios for the development of the war for Ukraine and its allies. According to Hrinkiewicz, Ukraine, despite the complexity and scale of the aggression, is capable of persevering and winning this fight. In response to a question from Senator Tommy Taberville about the likely prospects for a military solution to the conflict, the US Air Force Lieutenant General clearly stated: “Senator, I am convinced that Ukraine is quite capable of this. It is fighting with great courage and determination, which is difficult for us to imagine, because we have never been in this kind of situation.” He emphasized that the Ukrainian people are fighting with incredible determination, which is certainly an important component of any chance of victory. After such an open statement, we can conclude that in American military and political circles there is growing faith in Ukraine's ability to withstand this occupation war and win, although the official position of the White House administration is still more inclined to diplomatic and peaceful ways of resolving the conflict. Meanwhile, we remind you that at the end of May, US President Donald Trump officially nominated Lieutenant General Alexus Hrynkevich to the position of Supreme Allied Commander Europe. This means that the new commander will also head the US European Command, strengthening his role in regulating and coordinating military operations in the region. The interest in Hrynkevich’s statements contrasts with the official line of the Trump administration, which emphasizes that a military solution to the conflict is likely unlikely and that the key remains the search for compromise. They insist that victory is a guarantee of peace, reaching a political solution, not a military settlement. Overall, his words sounded like a signal that the American leadership is increasingly convinced that Ukraine has a chance to win and that to achieve the ultimate goal it is worth considering different scenarios, including a military solution. The strategy continues to be a subject of debate and balancing between supporting Ukraine and the desire to avoid escalating the conflict into a broad military confrontation.
