One of the key international forums of the year has begun in The Hague - the NATO summit, where leaders of partner countries will gather to discuss sensitive issues of security and defense in Europe. The spotlight is on US President Donald Trump, who has already arrived at the residence of the King of the Netherlands in The Hague, where an official dinner is scheduled to take place in the midst of the summit. This event has become a landmark event at the start of the international forum, as the presence of the American leader is of great importance for the format of the negotiations and the general atmosphere of the event. According to the correspondent of "European Truth" from The Hague, Trump's motorcade arrived at the Huis ten Bosch Palace after 8:30 p.m. local time. The US President stepped from the motorcade directly into the palace, without additional escort, and, walking along the red carpet, entered the celebration. He was greeted with solemnity: King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands, Queen Maxima and Crown Princess Catharine-Amalia - all of them showed a decent level of ceremony and emphasized the importance of the event. It should be noted that from the very morning the negotiating schedule of the summit was busy and implied the idea of a quick but effective discussion of current international issues. The process of preparing for the dinner showed that all heads of government, including the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, had already arrived and were preparing for round tables, presentations and official meetings. It is known that the long-awaited dinner for leaders is planned in the Huis ten Bosch palace, and, according to reports, Trump plans to stay in this residence overnight - thereby emphasizing the special level of the event and diplomatic protocol. According to information, it has long been known that the program of this year's NATO summit was specially adjusted and arranged taking into account the interests of Donald Trump - one of the key participants and influential leaders. This has drawn both praise for the desire for greater efficiency and criticism for the potential complexity of the negotiating process for other participants. At the same time, the point is that this currently most influential world bloc is preparing to discuss issues related to collective security, countering new challenges and ensuring the defense capabilities of member states. Another important aspect is the Ukrainian leadership’s hopes for a possible meeting with Trump at the summit. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has expressed the hope that he will be able to speak personally with his American counterpart to discuss strategic issues and emphasize Ukraine’s support for security and Euro-Atlantic integration. This issue already places additional emphasis on the importance of diplomatic contacts in the context of the region’s pressing security challenges. At the same time, it is worth noting that it is during this summit that the attention of the world community is focused not only on political speeches, but also on the process of forming a common position on global problems, including the issue of countering Russian aggression, strengthening defense capabilities, and supporting allies from other parts of Europe and North America. In addition, the media and analytical circles are actively discussing a possible final document and its impact on the policy of the coming year. In general, the first night of the NATO summit in The Hague is the beginning of a series of decisive meetings and diplomatic acts. High-level meetings, in particular with the participation of Trump and Zelensky, should determine the further course of security in Europe and beyond. The summit continues and sets before the participants the task not only of developing a joint algorithm of actions to protect collective interests, but also of responding to new challenges of the modern geopolitical situation - all this during important diplomatic meetings that will take place in the coming days.
