Representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs showed journalists real evidence of the aggressor country’s cruel attitude towards its deceased compatriots, once again emphasizing the cynicism and barbarity of the Russian military machine. As part of the demonstrations, Interior Minister Igor Klymenko said: “The repatriation of bodies is one of the most painful and delicate processes, requiring maximum effort, thoroughness and responsibility. After all, we have to deal with bodies that often arrive in a terrible condition — damaged, mutilated, in putrefactive processes, which complicates identification and requires the use of complex laboratory methods, including several advanced DNA tests. This year, we have already recorded 20 cases when the remains of Ukrainian soldiers were mixed with the remains of Russian soldiers - unprecedented cynicism and disregard for human dignity.” According to the published data, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine publicly demonstrated envelopes with documentation, badges, occupiers’ patches, personal belongings of Russian servicemen and other evidence of how Moscow mocks the memory of Ukrainian heroes. All this confirms the fact that the received bodies do not always correspond to human dignity and are often the subject of serious searches and additional examinations. The Minister of Internal Affairs emphasized the readiness of the Ukrainian side to return the bodies of Russian soldiers, but stressed the extreme importance of following all procedures and preventing possible errors. He noted that the country seeks to avoid any suspicions of falsifications or errors, as this could have serious consequences for the further process and diplomatic relations. “We are aware of Russia’s treachery and therefore have appealed to the International Commission on Missing Persons. Our goal is to organize the process of selecting biomaterial for the accurate identification of deceased Russians in EU countries. A detailed list of points for taking tests and instructions for citizens who wish to undergo the procedure will be published soon. In addition, we will continue to publish information on unidentified bodies in Russian form and are actively working in this direction to guarantee the fairness and reliability of each fact.” In conclusion, by highlighting these facts, the Ministry of Internal Affairs demonstrates not only its efforts to achieve maximum transparency in the process of returning the bodies, but also calls on the international community and Ukrainian society to be attentive to this painful and important case, which is yet another evidence of the Russian aggressor’s bullying and cynicism towards its own citizens and Ukrainian veterans. This approach helps strengthen public trust in state structures and emphasizes the indomitability of Ukrainian will in the struggle for historical truth and justice.
