The Ukrainian Defense Forces have once again demonstrated their ability to deliver pinpoint strikes on strategic enemy targets
On the night of June 22-23, units of the Special Operations Forces (SOF), in close cooperation with missile and artillery units, inflicted a powerful blow on the Atlas Combine oil depot, located in the Rostov region of the Russian Federation. This facility plays a key role in supplying fuel to Russian military formations participating in the armed aggression against Ukraine. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the operation was aimed at reducing the enemy's offensive capabilities and weakening its military-economic potential. "As part of measures to reduce the enemy's capabilities, units of the Special Operations Forces in cooperation with the missile and artillery component inflicted an effective blow on the Atlas Combine oil depot," the press service of the General Staff reported on social networks. They also added that the Ukrainian defenders do not ignore any opportunities to undermine the military potential of the aggressor country, increasing pressure on its logistical and economic infrastructure. The results of the fire attack have already been confirmed: a fire is observed in the area of the target, and moreover, Ukrainian weapons recorded a pinpoint strike on the object and the achievement of the desired effect. Details regarding the volume of destruction and the scale of damage are currently being clarified, but we can already speak of a significant weakening of the logistical support of the Russian army. "The Atlas plant is an important strategic facility for the Russian occupation forces, as it supplies fuel to the Russian military units participating in the armed aggression in the territories of the Luhansk and Donetsk regions. Ukrainian drones have repeatedly struck this facility in recent years. In particular, in August and November 2024, the destruction of this facility was already recorded, which confirms the regularly carried out Ukrainian campaign to undermine the enemy's rear logistics chains." In general, the event testifies to the active actions of the Ukrainian forces in the hybrid war, which is waged not only on the battlefield, but also through targeted destruction of strategic enemy facilities. Updates on the damage and fire at the Atlas plant confirm the high level of combat capability and purposefulness of the Ukrainian army in applying modern methods of countering the Russian occupation military machine. This is an additional blow to the aggressor's rear infrastructure, which contributes to the reduction of its offensive potential and increases the pressure on its logistical chains in the context of an ongoing war.
