This news confirms the ongoing brutality and persistence of Russian aggression, which does not cease even as people and rescuers try to deal with the aftermath of the first strike. On the night of Monday, June 23, Kyiv region was once again targeted by Russian forces. According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, the enemy conducted another massive shelling, resulting in the destruction of residential neighborhoods, industrial facilities, and infrastructure. The most severe damage and human casualties were recorded in the Bilozerkivskyi and Buchanskyi districts — there, the consequences of the attack were the most devastating. The situation worsened during the response to the initial strike. While SES personnel were evacuating people from flooded and destroyed buildings and extinguishing fires caused by explosions, Russian forces launched a timely second attack. This wave of strikes claimed the lives and health of several rescuers. According to official sources, during the second shelling, a large fire broke out in a two-story hotel building in Bila Tserkva, where a private hospital is located. The fire covered an area of over 1,500 square meters. Fortunately, rescue workers immediately started evacuating patients, including those with severe infectious diseases, all of whom were saved. Two firefighters were injured while conducting search and rescue operations under hazardous conditions. Additionally, firefighting efforts continue in private residential areas affected by shelling. Many houses were engulfed in flames or partially destroyed: rescuers are working tirelessly to prevent the fire’s spread and to save as many lives and property as possible. This situation vividly demonstrates that the enemy is not hesitant to strike repeatedly, even when towns and villages are already under extreme stress due to previous destruction. During the first six months of the year, Kyiv region became one of Ukraine’s most affected areas, highlighting the urgent need to strengthen defenses and support the local population. According to SES representatives, their personnel are currently operating within their capabilities, but the situation remains very tense. They call on everyone to remain cautious and support one another during these difficult times. At the same time, authorities continue working on infrastructure recovery and providing aid to those affected, but given the scale of destruction and daily new attacks, the road to full recovery appears long and challenging. Once again, the importance of unity, support, and resilience of the Ukrainian people during this difficult period is emphasized. The enemy continues to demonstrate determination and ruthlessness, so each day on the front lines and in the rear is a fight for the lives, freedom, and future of Ukraine.
