Rescuers demonstrated the extensive destruction in Kyiv caused by yet another enemy combined attack
In the night of June 23, the capital of Ukraine again suffered a powerful shelling, which included strikes from unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and ballistic weapons. The consequences of this attack were so severe that firefighters from the State Emergency Service (SES) could not remain indifferent and began active work to eliminate the aftermath just hours after the strike. According to the SES, many locations in the city were affected immediately. Particularly impacted were districts where damage to residential buildings, infrastructure objects, and commercial facilities was recorded. For example, in the Shevchenkivskyi district, the ceiling between the fourth and fifth floors of a five-story residential complex was damaged. Here, partial roof destruction occurred, and cars around the building were on fire, which accelerated the evacuation of residents. With the help of rescuers, seven people were saved, including a pregnant woman, the agency reported. The details underscore the scale of the destruction once again: in the Solomianskyi district, a fire on the roof of one of the business centers was extinguished. Firefighting efforts are still ongoing in a four-story office building, where approximately 800 square meters are on fire. Firefighters are working tirelessly to prevent the fire from spreading to other rooms and to reduce possible losses. In addition to damage to civilian and commercial objects, fires are recorded in open areas — in homesteads and yards — due to falling debris from UAVs and damage to non-residential structures. Relevant services are doing their best to localize these fires, but the number of potential victims in these zones is currently being clarified. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko stated that as a result of the night enemy attack, five city residents were injured. According to him, the strike affected various districts — residential buildings and infrastructure objects, including a metro station and several important municipal facilities. Despite all efforts by rescuers and city authorities, the consequences of the attack are quite serious, and repair work will take a long time and require significant resources. This is not the first time Kyiv has been subjected to armed attacks of various scales. Since the start of the war, the aggressor has been using combined strikes to sow panic and paralyze the operation of important facilities. However, Ukrainian services work around the clock, restoring damaged infrastructure and ensuring the safety of residents. Citizens are urged to be cautious, follow official messages, and not ignore alarm signals. Kyiv remains on the front line of resistance against Russian aggression, and each new strike serves as a reminder of the need for unity and resilience of the Ukrainian people.
