According to official information provided by the air command, in the night of June 22-23, our forces destroyed at least 339 drones and 15 various types of missiles, including strike UAVs and cruise missiles aimed at infrastructure facilities and vital targets of the country. The number of direct hits was recorded at six key locations, confirming the high accuracy and combat readiness of Ukrainian air defense systems. At the same time, remnants of downed missiles and drones were found at 25 different locations across Kyiv and the region’s capital. The source of this information—the Ukrainian Air Force command—reports that from 8 PM on June 22, the enemy intensified attacks, launching 368 enemy military aircraft: primarily Shahed-type strike drones and imitators of other models, numbering over 160. The “Shahid” propaganda is conducted from several directions—Kursk, Shatalovo, Oryol, Bryansk, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk—indicating a deliberate effort by Russian occupation forces to expand the zone of impact and create chaos in the rear of Ukrainian defenses. In addition to drones, the enemy also used ballistic missiles—11 Iskander-M and KN-23 missiles launched from the areas of Taganrog and Bryansk region, as well as five Iskander-K cruise missiles from the Kursk region. Kyiv remained the primary target—Ukrainian defenders responded swiftly and by 9:00 AM had destroyed enemy targets in the air. According to official data, since the beginning of enemy attacks, Ukrainian air defense systems have shot down 354 out of 368 attack means: 158 of them were destroyed with fire support and air defense assets directly at the penetration points, while the remaining 196 were locally lost and suppressed by electronic warfare (EW) systems. Of this total, 146 Shahed drones and other UAVs, as well as many various types of missiles, have been neutralized. Another significant achievement is the destruction of 7 out of 10 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles, with three destroyed either by direct hits or wreckage. Moreover, five enemy Iskander-K cruise missiles were intercepted and destroyed by air defense systems. Despite all enemy efforts, Ukrainian defense holds the frontline and demonstrates a high level of combat readiness. Military officials assert that the tense nighttime situation was countered effectively thanks to the work of aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, modern electronic warfare systems, and mobile fire groups of Ukrainian defense forces. This once again confirms that Ukrainian defenders are capable not only of repelling enemy attacks but also of giving them a decisive response by destroying enemy equipment in the air and on approaches to key state facilities.
