On June 23, Russian occupation forces once again demonstrated their aggression by launching a large-scale mass attack on Kyiv using kamikaze drones. As a result of these strikes, the city found itself under a new wave of anxiety and destruction, and the situation remains uncertain, particularly regarding the scale and extent of the damage. According to reports from Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko and Kyiv City Military Administration Head Timur Tkachenkо, the night of June 23 was marked by another episode of hostile aggression. They noted that debris fell in the Solomianskyi district, causing a fire that damaged non-residential buildings. Fortunately, only one injured person is currently known, and medical personnel are already providing assistance. Kyiv’s mayor further detailed the situation, emphasizing that it is under control but remains tense. According to Tkachenkо, in the Solomianskyi district, a roof of a non-residential building caught fire due to the impact of debris from a destroyed Russian drone. The fire was extinguished by rescuers, but the aftermath of the destruction will require significant repair work. As of 01:21 AM, the situation worsened in the Sviatoshynskyi district, where another strike was recorded—debris from a Russian UAV hit a multi-storey residential building. At the same time, debris also fell in open areas, creating additional danger for residents and passersby. Experts and official sources note that this attack fits within Russia's broader strategy of utilizing kamikaze drones for terrorism and destabilization of the situation in and around Kyiv. It can be assumed that this wave of strikes will serve as another reminder of the increased vulnerability and the fragility of security in the city, which, despite all efforts to strengthen defenses, remains open to new threats. Local authorities urge residents to stay cautious and not ignore alarm signals.
