Russian Invaders Again Intensify Shelling of Kherson: Victims and Destruction

On the morning of June 22, occupied Kherson was hit by powerful explosions and artillery volleys once again. According to official information from the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, at least one civilian was killed and four others injured as a result of the attack. This is not the first similar incident in the city in recent days, indicating an escalation in enemy actions against the southern Ukrainian city. The first strikes were recorded early in the morning when Russian drones took to the sky, targeting residential neighborhoods in the Korabelnyi district of Kherson. Local witnesses report that explosive devices were dropped from the drones, causing extensive damage and injuries among civilians. It is with particular sorrow that mention is made of a 46-year-old man who received a mine-explosive injury during this time, which proved fatal for him. Shortly thereafter, Russian troops opened fire on the Dniprovskyi district of the city. As a result of the artillery shelling, three local residents were wounded: two women aged 85 and 54 with mine-explosive injuries, and another woman in serious condition, who was immediately hospitalized. It is also known that the body of another man was recovered from the shelling; unfortunately, his injuries were incompatible with life, and his identity is currently being established. The city administration and law enforcement agencies emphasize that the situation remains tense and urge residents to exercise extreme caution and follow evacuation and safety recommendations. Authorities call upon Ukrainian society and international partners to strengthen support in protecting peaceful communities and to prepare for possible new attacks by Russian occupiers. Meanwhile, the local community of Kherson remains in a state of anxiety and uncertainty. They are again forced to hide in shelters until the enemy shells and drones cease their wave of attacks. Witnesses and rescuers are calling on everyone to be as careful as possible and avoid outdoor activities until the enemy's actions are fully stopped. Currently, the city and regional authorities are working to establish the precise details of the tragedy and are providing all necessary assistance to those affected. The identity of the man who was killed during the shelling is being established, and investigations are ongoing to verify the entire situation. Witness testimonies and scene materials are intended to help determine the extent of the destruction and hold those responsible accountable for these crimes. Overall, the situation in Kherson remains tense, and the war continues to leave its mark on the lives of peaceful residents who are forced to fight for their lives every day. Ukraine, both at the front and in the rear, continues to hold its positions and fight for its independence, while the enemy attempts to break its will and destroy the city’s infrastructure.
