During the night from June 21 to June 22, the situation in Donetsk Region remained tense and tragic, as Russian troops once again carried out a targeted shelling of the city of Sloviansk. According to official information provided by the Head of the Donetsk Military Civil Administration, Vadym Fylashkin, a 17-year-old teenager was killed as a result of this terrorist act, and three other civilians were injured of varying severity. A significant number of residential buildings and infrastructure objects were damaged, once again confirming the enemy’s cynical policy of deliberately destroying civilian facilities and killing peaceful residents. According to data received from regional services, during the nighttime shelling, more than thirty private residential buildings, two administrative premises, four multi-storey buildings, as well as a manufacturing enterprise and three passenger cars were either destroyed or damaged. This incident represents yet another manifestation of the aggressive tactics employed by Russian occupiers in the region, who consciously target the civilian population, seeking to intimidate local residents and subjugate the will of the Ukrainian people through continuous strikes and destruction. Head of the OVA Vadym Fylashkin emphasized that as long as these attacks continue, Russian forces are deliberately aiming at civilian objects, with a high probability of deliberately undermining residential complexes and critical infrastructure, complicating the lives of local residents and creating an extremely dangerous situation. In his opinion, this terror is unjustifiable and demonstrates the cynicism and impunity of the aggressor. The background of this tragic night event unfolded on the evening of June 21, when Russian troops launched a missile strike on multi-story buildings in Kramatorsk. Preliminary reports indicate several injured, and with a small chance of rescue, at least one person may still be trapped under the rubble. This incident further demonstrates the destructive activities of the occupiers and confirms that they do not select their targets, aiming instead to destroy as many peaceful civilians and infrastructure as possible. Another blow was delivered by Russian forces overnight on June 22 to the Zarichnyi district of Sumy, located in the northern part of the country. According to local services, this attack caused damage to private residential buildings and posed a serious threat to the safety of the population. Rocket airstrikes also damaged civilian infrastructure objects, increasing tension in the region and underscoring the scale and cynicism of the destructive actions of Russian occupiers. Official representatives stressed that Ukrainian defenders continue to fight for the safety of their citizens and to restore destroyed objects, but their efforts are severely hampered by the ruthless and senseless terror demonstrated by Russia in temporarily occupied territories and during shelling of civilian zones. All these tragic incidents once again highlight the urgent need for strengthened international support in holding the aggressor accountable and enhancing the country’s defense against new aggressive steps.
