Lieutenant General Serhiy Nayev officially announced the completion of his tenure as commander of the “Vugledar” tactical group, which played a key role along the front line in Donetsk region
He shared this information on his official social media profile on Facebook, highlighting the importance of the work done by his fellow officers and units with whom he collaborated for several months. "Together with the management officers, we leave one of the hottest sectors of Donetsk region. Further combat missions in this area will be carried out by one of the newly formed Ukrainian Armed Forces corps," his official statement reads. In his report, Lieutenant General Nayev also summarized the results achieved during his leadership of the tactical group. According to him, Ukrainian military personnel destroyed nearly 20,000 occupiers during his command. The report states that 74 enemy tanks, 138 armored vehicles and BTRs, over 300 artillery systems, and 1,296 units of military vehicles used by Russian forces were destroyed. These figures indicate the significant effectiveness of Ukrainian troops in combating Russian aggression, especially in the so-called "hot" sector of the front, where the situation remained extremely tense and persistent. Nayev's withdrawal and the transfer of command to new units mark another stage in the structural and strategic reforms of the Ukrainian army aimed at increasing mobility and operational flexibility of the armed formations. Colleagues and military leadership express support and gratitude to Serhiy Nayev for his dedicated service and contribution to strengthening the country’s defense capabilities. Currently, preparatory work is underway regarding the further distribution of leadership roles within the Ukrainian Armed Forces, as well as the organization of new command structures capable of quickly responding to changes on the battlefield. Overall, this step signifies gradual and thoughtful transformations in command, intended to enhance Ukraine’s defense capacity as a whole and ensure continued success against Russian occupying forces.
