Israel has carried out a new large-scale military operation in Iran aimed at increasing pressure on the Iranian nuclear program and destroying potential missile and military targets

Chas Pravdy - 21 June 2025 12:12

This is the third attack within recent weeks, once again demonstrating the escalation of the conflict between Tel Aviv and Tehran, which has long exceeded regional tensions. According to Israeli military sources, on the night of June 21, the Israeli Air Force launched a series of pinpoint strikes against targets within Iran, including an facility in Isfahan and several important missile launch installations in that and neighboring regions. Reports citing the Israel Defense Forces' (IDF) Central Command indicate that approximately fifty fighter jets participated in the operation, dropping over 150 munitions. This attack marks another step in the isolation of Iran’s nuclear program, particularly the destruction of the facility in Isfahan, which had already been targeted by missile strikes earlier in the conflict. Military officials state that the strikes targeted not only the nuclear complex itself but also manufacturing and production facilities, including centrifuge manufacturing plants — a key component in uranium enrichment processes. IDF representatives emphasize that these targeted actions have significantly weakened Iran's capacity for further nuclear development and destroyed several missile launch platforms that had already been prepared for launching missiles at Israeli territory. Specifically, it is reported that four pre-positioned ballistic missiles, which could have been used for attacks against Israel, were destroyed as they were being prepared for launch. The military highlighted that these strikes focused not only on military targets but also on logistical stations, ammunition depots, radar systems, and air defense systems, complicating Iran’s planning and execution of future attacks. Additionally, during the night operations, several trucks likely used for transporting drones and infrastructure facilities essential for launching missiles and drones were destroyed. The IDF also reports that the strikes impacted command and control systems of Iran’s defense, reducing the effectiveness of Iran’s air defense system, which complicates their ability to defend against potential Israeli counterattacks. This nighttime operation further solidifies Israel’s stance on the need for decisive action to dismantle Iran’s nuclear program, which Tel Aviv considers a threatening menace to regional security and global stability. Official representatives of the Israeli military emphasize that further strikes remain possible if necessary, and that the objectives of these attacks to achieve strategic goals remain a priority. The escalation of the conflict opens up new unpredictable scenarios in the region and increases the risk of involving other countries in the confrontation. The international community calls for restrained diplomacy and avoiding a full-scale confrontation, while Israeli military and government forces strengthen their operations to prevent Iran’s nuclear program from obtaining the capacity to cause widespread destruction and developing missile infrastructure that could later threaten stability across the region.
