Co-owner of “Kvartal 95” Mindich Prepares Meeting with Chernyshov in London: Exclusive Details and Potential Outcomes
Rumors have resurfaced in Ukraine's public sphere and political circles regarding a possible re-signing of the fate of Deputy Prime Minister Oleksiy Chernyshov. According to journalistic sources, he may soon be subjected to serious negotiations in the British capital — London. The main orchestrator of this initiative is the well-known businessman Timur Mindich, who maintains close ties with President Volodymyr Zelensky's team and indicates intentions to influence the situation within Ukrainian politics. According to multiple insider sources, including ZN.UA and Ukrainska Pravda, Mindich, who is a co-owner of the "Kvartal 95" studio and close to the Presidential Administration, left Ukraine on June 20 and moved to London. There, he plans to hold negotiations with Chernyshov himself, aiming to persuade the deputy prime minister to return to Kyiv within the timelines set by Zelensky. The goal is to ensure that the process of implementing the president's will remains a priority, and that Chernyshov's return could help restore his reputation, which might be significantly damaged due to NABU investigations and potential accusations of involvement in corruption schemes. Sources indicate that one of the possible arguments for Chernyshov's return will be a recent promise that the case against him at NABU will be handed over to a law enforcement agency controlled by the Presidential Office — following a scheme similar to the one used in the case of Oleg Tatarov. This could serve as a strategic move to reduce personal risk for Chernyshov; resolving the investigation through a change in the controlling structures may act as his insurance against further sanctions and arrests. It is important to note that the planned meeting between Mindich and Chernyshov in London has not been unconfirmed. Official sources confirm that the agreement has been reached, and the participants are currently outside Ukraine. Journalistic circles suggest that this trip has political implications and may represent an attempt to influence internal Ukrainian politics from abroad. The basis for these leaks was recent events in Ukrainian politics. On June 19, NABU and SAPO sent an invitation to Chernyshov through the Cabinet of Ministers' secretariat to appear for suspicion announcements. This was a surprise to many because, according to unofficial data, the deputy prime minister's family had already left the country before the official procedural notice. The background of this scandal traces back to June 13, when anti-corruption agencies announced the uncovering of a large-scale corruption scheme in the construction sector, involving high-ranking officials, including Chernyshov — notably, former State Secretary of the Ministry of Communities Vasyl Volodin and former advisor to the minister Maksym Horbatyuk. On June 18, the Higher Anti-Corruption Court selected a preventive measure for Volodin — he was detained for two months with the possibility of posting a bail of 20 million hryvnias. Sources in law enforcement and political circles report that searches of Chernyshov, which took place almost a month ago, are known. Currently, the deputy prime minister for national unity is abroad as part of a planned official mission to the EU countries. The authorities officially state that he is fulfilling his duties from abroad and will return to Ukraine after completing the trip, a claim also confirmed by President Zelensky. Thus, the situation around Oleksiy Chernyshov remains tense, and the prospects for his return are under certain pressure. As public and political maneuvers increase, it is crucial to monitor the actions of political players, as new developments might prompt them to make further decisions and explore ambiguous scenarios in the future.
