Again, victims in Donetsk region: Russian forces wounded seven civilians in one day

On Saturday, the Ukrainian community of Donetsk region had to endure a new wave of dangerous and destructive shelling by Russian occupation forces. According to official data, as of June 21, 2025, at least seven civilians have been injured in different settlements across the region as a result of enemy attacks. This information was reported by the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office and the head of the regional military administration, Vadym Filashkin, emphasizing the scale and cynicism of the aggressor’s actions. The morning shelling began in the city of Pokrovsk, where Russian troops used an FPV drone. As a result, shrapnel wounds and concussions were recorded in two local residents. These were a 56-year-old woman and a 69-year-old man, both of whom sustained minor injuries but required urgent medical intervention. A few hours later, the situation worsened. The occupiers returned to the Kramatorsk district, striking the village of Bilokuzminivka with a FAB-250 missile with a UMPK module. The consequences were relatively severe — an 81-year-old pensioner was wounded, with fragments and shrapnel penetrating the body. Less than half an hour later, the enemy struck again in Semenivka, using four aerial bombs. Two women aged 51 and 75 were the victims of this attack; they sustained serious injuries — mine-explosive trauma, closed cranial brain injuries, and lacerations requiring immediate medical assistance. Another significant blow to civilian infrastructure was inflicted by the Russian forces, who shelled the village of Illinivka with barrel artillery. During this attack, a 52-year-old man was wounded by shrapnel and also suffered a mine-explosive injury. As a result of the shelling, 35 private houses and two cars were damaged, further confirming the extent of destruction and suffering experienced by local residents. Vadym Filashkin also reported an additional case of injury in Semenivka — details are currently not disclosed, but it is evident that the devastating consequences of yesterday’s events in the region are not just statistics, but human tragedies that are intertwined daily with the horrors of war. These events once again highlight the brutal reality of Russian aggression: targeted shelling of civilian infrastructure, an increased threat to peaceful populations, and relentless destruction of shattered lives. Ukrainian authorities and local services continue their work on evacuation, providing medical and psychological assistance to the affected, but one thing is clear — the armed conflict in Donetsk leaves deep wounds every day, wounds that will take a long time to heal.
