President Volodymyr Zelensky stated this in his daily address on June 20, emphasizing that it is now the Ukrainian army that maintains the situation on the front lines, holding back the enemy and closely monitoring the situation at the border with Russia. Zelensky stressed that his team receives prompt and extremely detailed information about the situation on all front-line sectors, especially in the border areas of Sumy region. "I sincerely want to thank our defenders, who demonstrate incredible resilience and courage. The Russians trying to conduct active combat operations in this territory had absolutely crazy plans and intentions. They devised various scenarios, but Ukrainian defenders stop them and strike at the enemy, destroying these killers and defending our integrity and independence," the head of state said. At the same time, Zelensky emphasized that the situation remains tense, and Russia continually demonstrates its unacceptable stance regarding the cessation of hostilities. According to him, Ukrainian intelligence and defense forces have confirmed that the Kremlin once again shows no intention of compromise or ceasing fire. "They openly declare their desire to fight and threaten the entire world. This means they are not yet feeling the pressure of the international community, or they are just pretending not to feel it," Zelensky stated. The president added that the Ukrainian people must be prepared for any development of events and continue supporting the defense. He emphasized that the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to destroy the enemy, contributing to the weakening of the Russian military machine across the front. "No matter what they say in Moscow, we believe in our victory and are doing everything necessary to achieve it. Our country is now at the forefront of the fight for freedom and independence, and we are capable of stopping any evil that seeks to engulf our land." In conclusion of his address, Zelensky called on Ukrainians and the entire world not to lose faith and not to allow the aggressor to play with our feelings and hopes. "We are demonstrating to the whole world that Ukraine does not give up, that we are going to the end and will win. Our defenders are the pillar of our freedom and future. Let this war serve as a lesson for everyone, and may no enemy dare to disrupt our peace and tranquility again," he summed up.
