According to the head of the Department for Combating Crimes Committed in Armed Conflict Zones, Boris Spartak Borisenko, the enemy employed "Geran-2" drones with the purpose of targeted attacks on city infrastructure and civilian objects. Based on investigation data and publicly available information, these UAVs caused significant damage to the city. Specifically, the shockwave damaged several multi-story buildings located in various districts of Kharkiv. Destruction of civilian enterprises, a sports complex, and a kindergarten was also recorded, indicating deliberate assaults. Over fifty vehicles parked near residential areas were damaged or destroyed as a result of the attack, with some ending up under rubble or sustaining various degrees of damage. It is notable that the strikes were recorded in the Kyivskyi and Shevchenkivskyi districts of Kharkiv, as confirmed by video footage published by the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office. The videos show the extent of the destruction and the aftermath of drone hits on city buildings and vehicles. The official stance of law enforcement emphasizes that the use of "Geran-2" drones indicates a new level of tactical means employed by Russian forces, and their targeted nature poses a threat to the safety of the city’s peaceful residents. The Ministry of Justice and the Prosecutor's Office emphasize that all attack cases are documented and analyzed to bring those responsible to justice. Meanwhile, local authorities urge Kharkiv residents to remain vigilant and follow safety recommendations during air alerts and attacks. According to preliminary information, Ukrainian security forces continue active efforts to combat drones and are working to strengthen the city’s air defense. In summary, it should be noted that Russia’s use of "Geran-2" combat drones has become one of the factors exacerbating the security situation in Kharkiv and requires decisive measures to enhance protection for the civilian population. Further investigations and detailed studies of this attack are ongoing to establish all circumstances and hold accountable those responsible for crimes committed within the context of military operations.
