The cycle of sirens and alarms in Kharkiv persists. For the second time in the past day, Russian drones launched attacks on the city from morning until late evening. According to the city mayor, Ihor Terekhov, corroborating official data, a nighttime confrontation occurred again today. During this time, residents once more heard the unusual wailing of sirens warning of new danger. As Terekhov explained in his media comment, active hybrid warfare is ongoing — the city has once again been targeted by drones. “This is the second round of strikes by the enemy in the past night. Initially, the hits affected the Novobavarskyi district,” the mayor stated. “At the same time, we have information that combat drones are still operating in Kharkiv, indicating an escalation of Russian military activity in the region.” Shortly after the first reports, Terekhov provided additional details regarding the strike location in Kharkiv. According to him, the perpetrators deliberately concealed small details but clarified that the explosion occurred in the Osnovyanskyi district. The incident involved fighting in the city’s private sector. “Preliminary information indicates that the attack was directed at a private home,” Terekhov added. “Fortunately, there are no reports of casualties at this time, but several buildings suffered damage, and residents of neighboring structures experienced the effects of the destruction.” This underscores how vulnerable the city’s residential areas are, which have long since become targets for Russian strikes. Recall that this nighttime wave of attacks was already the second today. In the morning, combat drones ruthlessly attacked residential districts, causing extensive destruction. Three minors were injured, receiving injuries of varying severity. Reports also indicate significant damage to vehicles: about fifty cars were destroyed or damaged to different degrees. Local authorities continue to do everything possible to ensure residents’ safety and respond swiftly to the consequences of another attack. The situation in Kharkiv remains tense and difficult, with a high level of threat keeping the population in constant stress. Ukrainian officials urge citizens to be extremely cautious and to follow official updates to avoid unnecessary risks. The fighting in the region is, unfortunately, becoming more complicated due to the increased use of unmanned aerial vehicles. Russia seems to purposefully escalate this tactic, attempting to terrify the population and destroy residential infrastructure. Meanwhile, Ukrainian defense forces continue working on sheltering residents and identifying malicious actors responsible for waging war from the shadows. The local community and authorities are on high alert, as drone attacks in Kharkiv have already become a sinister routine. They show that the fight for the city’s security and its residents’ safety is ongoing, and any new attack could change the situation on the internal security front. In this context, maintaining vigilance, trusting official reports, and remembering that only through united efforts can Ukrainian society withstand the challenges of war are crucial.
