At the White House, Trump was described as the “chief peacemaker,” emphasizing his ability to achieve peace through strength and determination, as well as highlighting his leadership in diplomatic matters surrounding Ukraine and Russia

US administration spokesperson Carolyn Levitt, citing an official source, confirmed that in the context of the situation between Kyiv and Moscow, it was American strength and Donald Trump’s leadership that played a decisive role in initiating direct negotiations between the two sides. According to Levitt, it was precisely through the support and under the guidance of the then-current US president that Ukrainian and Russian representatives began exchanging ideas directly. She emphasized that while Trump adheres to the concept of achieving peace through the use of force, he also remains interested in diplomatic avenues for resolving global conflicts. She stated: “He is the main peacemaker. The president who establishes peace through strength. But if the opportunity for diplomacy arises — he always takes it. That’s why he is unafraid to use force when necessary.” It is also recalled that previously, Trump announced his intention to delay the implementation of new sanctions against Russia, citing the desire to wait for the results of potential negotiations to end the war in Ukraine. At the same time, he withdrew early from the G7 summit, supposedly due to personal dislike for French President Emmanuel Macron and dissatisfaction with the possibility of meeting with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky. It is also noted that within the next two weeks, Trump is expected to make a decision regarding further actions in relations with Iran, planning to focus on resolving Iran’s nuclear issue through diplomacy and negotiations. During this period, he is anticipated to take a key step toward finding a diplomatic compromise to prevent escalation of the conflict and stabilize the situation in the Middle East. Overall, Trump’s stance on the use of force and diplomacy remains one of the main features of his approach to foreign policy, and his leadership on issues of peace and security continues to attract the attention of the international community.
