Zelensky emphasizes: It is unacceptable to allow the unification of aggressive regimes — Russia and Iran
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, in his address on June 19, made a bold call to the international community and all those involved in ensuring peace and security. The head of state stressed that currently Russia is making significant efforts to support and, in fact, rescue the Iranian nuclear program, which warrants particular attention. According to him, Moscow’s activity in this sphere indicates that the regime seeks to strengthen its positions and prevent aggressors from uniting on the path to destabilizing global security. During his speech, Zelensky directly stated: "Now Russia is trying to save the Iranian nuclear program — otherwise, we wouldn’t see their public signals and disobedient diplomatic activity. When disruptions occur in the capabilities of their allies to export war, Russia reacts immediately and tries to interfere. This is cynical and treacherous, because it vividly demonstrates their intent — to strengthen alliances between aggressors and create a dangerous tandem that threatens the entire world." The Ukrainian head of state added that this message clearly shows: "We must not allow aggressive regimes to unite and become joint partners in destroying the international order." His words again highlight the importance of a united and prudent fight against any manifestations of cooperation between countries supporting terror and aggression. Zelensky also shared details about the internal work of the government and diplomatic structures. He stated that active efforts are underway to strengthen sanctions policy: he assigned the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, intelligence agencies, and the entire Ukrainian diplomatic team to initiate new formats and tools to increase pressure on aggressor countries and their allies. "We need to implement more effective measures, apply new sanctions tools, and diplomatic pressure methods to strengthen our position on the international stage," the president said. Additionally, Zelensky called for diplomatic resolution of the conflict on Ukrainian soil. He emphasized that Ukraine needs not just a ceasefire regime but a real and sustainable end to the war that will bring the long-awaited peace. The leader of the state expressed readiness for high-level dialogue and even proposed meeting with those authorized to make decisions, including — the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin. "I am ready to meet in any format with those who make decisions and bear responsibility for peace. I understand that Putin has exceeded his constitutional terms, but it is important for us to find a way out of this situation. Doing it quickly and without unnecessary delays is our shared duty," Zelensky stated. He expressed hope that by the end of the term of the elected American leader, including Donald Trump, it will be possible to end the war, which will be an important step toward stabilizing the situation. "I am counting very much on the help of the United States and its influence in this situation. It is what can change things for the better and help halt the aggression," the Ukrainian president emphasized. He also underscored the importance of sanctions policy and diplomatic efforts in the context of restoring peace and stability. Finally, Zelensky called on the global community to take targeted actions to stop the aggression, highlighting the need to strengthen security measures, impose sanctions, and seek diplomatic paths to lasting peace. According to him, Ukraine stands for open dialogue and a stable end to the war, but will not allow aggressors to unite and dictate their rules to the world. This is a key message for all those responsible for maintaining stability and security worldwide.
