This raises questions about his actual participation in the event and the potential impact for Ukraine at the upcoming European and international forums. According to sources close to the European Council, the organization’s leadership hopes to see the Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelensky, among the delegates at the EU leaders’ meeting in Brussels scheduled for June 26-27. However, no official confirmation regarding his participation has been received from the Office of the President of Ukraine. It is known that Zelensky received an invitation to participate in the summit but has not yet provided a final response on whether he will attend in person or join remotely. Based on diplomatic sources, the participants of the summit currently see the possibility of Ukraine’s leader being present at the Brussels forum. According to a representative of the European Council, the preliminary draft agenda for the EU leaders’ meeting on June 26-27 included Zelensky’s participation. An anonymous diplomat reported that “the summit will begin at 11 a.m. on June 26 with the participation of President Zelensky. However, it is not yet certain whether he will attend in person or join via video link.” This news is particularly relevant amid preparations for the NATO summit scheduled for June 24-25 in The Hague, where Vladimir Zelensky strives to participate in person. However, it should be noted that recent signs indicate a declining level of interest from the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump in further supporting Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression. Media reports, citing Ukrainian officials, suggest that Washington’s attention to Ukraine is gradually waning. It is also worth noting that this year’s NATO summit program was significantly shortened compared to previous years. This move was intentional, and analysts explain it by the desire to “adapt” to the interests of U.S. President Donald Trump, who shows less enthusiasm for extended assistance to Ukraine and active measures against Russian aggression. Therefore, the developments in Brussels may influence not only Ukraine’s future diplomatic plans but also the format and level of support from strategic partners. Thus, there is still no official confirmation of Zelensky’s participation in the EU summit, and his presence remains uncertain. At the same time, his image and the reactions of allies during this period are crucial for Ukraine’s ongoing diplomatic efforts within the European space.
