Russia has been ignoring the proposal for a ceasefire for over 100 days, despite statements from the Kremlin about their intentions to achieve peace — this position was expressed by Ukraine’s Foreign Minister, Andrii Sybiga, emphasizing that Moscow is not fulfilling key international initiatives in this sphere

According to the head of Ukraine’s foreign policy agency, exactly 100 days ago Ukraine unconditionally supported the United States’ proposal for a 30-day ceasefire, which was meant to be the first step toward establishing stable and just peace. However, despite these efforts, Russia continues to ignore this call, continuing hostilities and intentionally complicating the situation for Ukraine and its people. In his statement on X (formerly Twitter), Andrii Sybiga stressed: "Exactly 100 days have passed since Ukraine unconditionally accepted the United States’ proposal for a full ceasefire. This was the first step toward possible peace, an end to the killings, and the start of a genuine diplomatic process. Yet, Russia refuses to accept this important initial step for the same length of time, demonstrating that its position remains unchanged." The Foreign Minister pointed out that throughout this entire period, Russia has continuously employed manipulative methods and intensified its terrorist tactics against the Ukrainian population. "Ukraine remains committed to peace and diplomacy. Unfortunately, Russia continues to choose the path of war, ignoring the achievements and efforts of the international community aimed at ending the killings and beginning negotiations," Sybiga stated. He emphasized that the only real way to stop Russian aggression is through what he called “peace through strength.” This, he said, requires increasing sanctions, expanding military and diplomatic support for Ukraine, and applying firm international pressure. Only through these measures can Moscow be compelled to return to the negotiating table and end the war — a war that relentlessly destroys the country, claims innocent lives, and poses global security challenges in Europe and beyond. Overall, the past 100 days of Russia’s continuous disregard for peace proposals serve as a clear signal: Moscow does not want to stop and is seeking only one path — to continue the war. Ukraine and its allies call for active actions, strengthened diplomacy, and intensified sanctions to force Russia back to negotiations, put an end to the violence, and undertake a long, but necessary, path toward peace and justice.
