During his speech while visiting the site of a missile attack carried out by the Iranian army, the politician emphasized that the regime led by Khamenei is entirely aimed at destroying Israel and poses a direct threat to regional and global security. "We are dealing with a dictator at the helm of a country whose sole purpose is the destruction of Israel. Such a regime has no right to exist," Katz stressed in his remarks. According to him, the Israeli Defense Forces have already received clear instructions and a strategy that involve tough and decisive actions to neutralize this threat. The minister underscored that there is no room for compromise in the country’s military policy and that deterrence and fighting terrorist and openly hostile regimes are priorities for Israeli security. Katz’s words were extremely pointed: “I compare Khamenei to Hitler. Imagine if Israel had existed during Hitler’s time, and we had a powerful army capable of quick response. We would have neutralized him before he could start his campaign to exterminate the Jews. The same applies now: if we had the opportunity, we would have long ago eliminated Khamenei and thwarted his man-made plans for genocide against our people.” According to this senior official, the Holocaust serves as a vivid reminder, and he believes that the current situation demands equally determined actions. The background of the conflict appeared even more tense: earlier this week, statements emerged from the United States claiming that former President Donald Trump had vetoed an Israeli plan to eliminate Khamenei. At the same time, Trump later clarified that such plans are not currently being implemented and that “the elimination of Khamenei is not on the agenda for now.” Despite this statement, Israeli intelligence agencies and military officials do not rule out the possibility of using extraordinary measures to remove the supreme Iranian leader, which could become part of a deep and radical security strategy if necessary. Overall, the statements from the defense chief reflect a lack of diplomatic concessions in confronting regimes like the Taran regime, which openly declare their intentions to destroy Israel. The magnitude and tension of the situation once again confirm that the region feels an acute need for decisive action to prevent new acts of aggression and large-scale conflict. All expert and political warnings converge on one point—the probability of resorting to extreme measures, including military action, remains high.
