In Ukraine, early summer weather is expected to be quite variable; however, according to forecasters this week, short-term showers and gusty winds with piercing gusts will predominate

Throughout Friday and Saturday, June 20-21, Ukrainian regions will experience situational rainfall, mainly in short and weak forms, creating intermittent comfort and occasional surprises for residents. According to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, and based on information from Interfax-Ukraine agency, weather conditions will have their specific features each day. On the first day, Friday, June 20, precipitation will begin during the night in the southern and northern regions, as well as in the Carpathian mountain ranges. During the day, they are expected to spread to the northern and eastern parts of the country, while the central, western, and northern oblasts will predominantly experience dry weather. As for the wind, it will predominantly blow from the east — from the north-western direction, with speeds of 7-12 meters per second. However, in the west, north, and central regions, strong gusts of 15-20 m/s are possible. Night temperatures will range from 8 to 16 degrees Celsius, with the coldest weather expected in the north and west of the country. During the day, temperatures will rise to 15-20 degrees, with Zakarpattia remaining warm — up to 23 degrees. In southern regions, where precipitation is usually infrequent, nighttime temperatures will reach 14-19 degrees, and during the day, the air will warm to 21-26 degrees. In Kyiv, it will be dry at night with temperatures around 11-13 degrees, while during the day, short-term rain is possible with temperatures of 16-18 degrees. The wind will be from the north-west, with gusts of 15-18 m/s. On the following day, June 21, rainfall is again expected, mainly during the daytime, with short showers in the western, as well as in the southern and eastern regions of the country. Forecasts predict the wind will remain from the same north-western direction, intensifying to 5-10 m/s. Night temperatures will drop to 8-13 degrees, while during the day, they will rise to 15-20 degrees. In southern regions, the weather will be even warmer — at night 11-16 degrees, and during the day 18-23 degrees. In Kyiv, temperatures will stay roughly the same: nights around 11-13 degrees, days around 16-18 degrees, with no strong winds expected — mainly 5-10 m/s. Overall, Ukrainians should prepare for possible short-term rain showers and gusts of wind, which will add atmospheric freshness but also complicate planning walks and other activities. The weather will remain changeable, depending on the region, and it is already advisable to consider the possibility of sudden downpours, especially in western and northern areas. For comfort and safety, it is recommended to carry a light raincoat or umbrella and monitor meteorological updates to stay informed about the latest weather changes.
