Information about this has appeared in Canadian media and is confirmed by sources close to the Ukrainian delegation. According to reports from Canadian broadcaster CBC News and the Ukrainian channel "Suspilne," Zelensky decided to curtail his visit and return to Ukraine amid recent events in the country. The main reason was a tragic video and testimonies about the devastating consequences of the overnight shelling of Kyiv on June 17, which claimed innocent lives and destroyed critical infrastructure. This decision was also influenced by U.S. President Donald Trump's choice to skip participation in the G7 summit held in Canada, citing tense situations in the Middle East. Sources indicate that while in Canada, Zelensky was supposed to complete negotiations and make important diplomatic statements. However, due to unforeseen criminal and military challenges in his home country, a decision was made to return home. It is reported that the Ukrainian president canceled a planned press conference in Calgary and intended to personally coordinate the next steps with Ukrainian diplomats in Kyiv. As a result, ongoing military attacks, missile strikes, and the worsening humanitarian crisis compelled Zelensky to change his plans. According to reports, the president has already concluded his visit to Canada and is returning to the Ukrainian capital, where urgent meetings regarding the response to new challenges are expected. At the same time, no official schedule or statement has been announced on this matter; however, it is evident that the current circumstances have created an urgent need for a brief pause in diplomatic meetings abroad and a focus on internal political and defense activities in the country.
