Ukraine in mid-June will once again welcome a warm and sunny season; however, short-term rains are still unlikely to disappear from our climate

According to forecasts by Ukrainian meteorologists and data from the Ukrhydrometcenter, the upcoming days promise a genuine rise in temperatures up to +30°C, providing a good excuse for outdoor activities and preparing for summer adventures. At the same time, in the northeast regions of the country, a trend of short-term showers will persist — prolonged rain showers lasting more than 30 minutes are not expected, and dry, warm weather will prevail over most of Ukraine. According to data from "Interfax-Ukraine" and meteorologists’ analyses, tomorrow, short-term thunderstorms could occur in the western and eastern regions of the country. For example, in Chernihiv and Sumy regions, light rainfall, storms, and wind gusts up to 20 m/s are forecasted during the day and evening. In Zakarpattia and the Carpathians, away from urban noise, short showers may also occur, which will mainly pass quickly and without significant consequences for local residents. Windy weather will continue during this period — westerly and north-westerly winds at speeds of 7-12 m/s, with gusts reaching 15-20 m/s, especially in eastern and southern regions. Temperatures will not change significantly: at night, thermometers will rise to 13-18°C, and even up to 21°C along the sea coasts. During the daytime, warm weather is expected — from 25 to 30°C above zero, with temperatures in the west and north of the country remaining around 20-25°C. In the capital, on Thursday, June 19, precipitation is unlikely. The local weather will be moderately warm: nighttime temperatures will range between 16 and 18°C, and daytime temperatures between 22 and 24°C. A northwest wind at 7-12 m/s is expected to be steady and cool, with gusts reaching 15-20 m/s during the day, adding a sense of coolness and a refreshing effect. For Friday, June 20, the weather will again be variable. Meteorologists predict a short-term rain in the southern and northeastern parts of the country overnight, with rains spreading across most of Ukraine during the day, except for the western regions. Winds are forecasted to continue from the northwest at 7-12 m/s, with gusts of 15-20 m/s during the day. Nighttime temperatures will fluctuate between 8 and 13°C, while daytime temperatures will range from 16 to 21°C. In southern regions, these figures may be slightly higher: 13-18°C at night and 21-26°C during the day, further indicating the beginning of summer and the transition to warm days. In Kyiv, a brief short-term rain is possible on Friday as well. During the night, weather conditions will be even more stable — no precipitation is expected, and light showers are possible during the day, which will not overshadow the high temperatures. Specifically, at night, the city will breathe a sigh of relief with temperatures of 11-13°C, and during the day, 16-18°C, creating comfortable conditions for residents. A northwest wind at 7-12 m/s, with gusts up to 15-20 m/s, will add a touch of freshness and create the characteristic summer breeze. Ukraine will be in a state of warm, dry, and semi-sunny weather, although minor rains in certain regions should not be ignored. They add a special charm to their unpredictability and remind us that summer is a time of change and surprises, so it’s worth preparing appropriate clothing and mood. For those eager to enjoy the sunshine, it’s the perfect time to plan walks, picnics, and light hikes — the weather is favorable for all these. Meanwhile, meteorologists urge paying attention to fleeting atmospheric fluctuations and not forgetting safety measures during strong gusts of wind and possible thunderstorms.
