The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has strongly condemned recent statements from Russia regarding the destruction of received military aid, calling such demands a disregard for the peace initiatives of the United States of America

In a comment published on the official MFA resources, Ukrainian spokesperson Georgiy Tkyhy emphasized that the words of Russian leadership, particularly Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko, who recently claimed the supposed necessity of destroying all Western weapons Ukraine has received from its international partners, are yet another illustration of complete disregard for the efforts of the United States and other countries aimed at ending the war. According to Tkyhy, such statements demonstrate that Russia entirely neglects any diplomatic steps and dialogue, instead continuing to formulate increasingly absurd and unreasonable demands. The Ukrainian MFA spokesman highlighted that Russian officials almost daily escalate tensions on the front lines with ultimatums, while ignoring the efforts of international actors and the valuable diplomatic initiatives aimed at restoring peace in the region. "This complete inadequacy, cynicism, and refusal to consider international opinion confirm that Moscow is deliberately ignoring any diplomatic initiatives and attempts to resolve the conflict through negotiations," Tkyhy stated. It is worth recalling that in June of this year, U.S. President Donald Trump publicly discussed with Vladimir Putin, stating that the dialogue was "good," but did not result in a breakthrough toward a swift peace. According to Trump, Putin "responded very decisively" regarding his readiness to respond to recent Ukrainian drone and missile attacks on airports, which Russia described as an "act of aggression." The following months saw a significant intensification of hostilities, especially after large-scale missile and artillery strikes on Kyiv and the regional infrastructure. On June 17, Kyiv experienced one of its largest attacks to date, which claimed the lives of 23 civilians and caused extensive destruction of buildings and infrastructure. Equally important is the fact that, according to media reports, just prior to this, the administration of former President Donald Trump disbanded an interagency task force responsible for developing strategies to pressure Russia to expedite peace efforts and sign negotiation agreements in Ukraine. This confirms that only a few months earlier, there was no consensus at the diplomatic level on active steps to accelerate the resolution of the conflict, and the situation remained tense. Such a policy of ignoring the efforts of the international community is an unmistakable signal that Russian strategies and actions are entirely aimed at prolonging the conflict and seeking any opportunities to increase pressure on Ukraine and its partners in the struggle for peace and security.
