In the ranks of the Ukrainian State Border Guard Service, a traitor was uncovered who, through his activities, caused significant damage to the country’s defense capabilities
Employees of the State Bureau of Investigation, in cooperation with the Security Service of Ukraine, conducted a large-scale operation to apprehend a service member who provided the enemy with detailed coordinates of Ukrainian positions and military equipment. According to the investigation, the individual is a mobilized soldier acting based on ideological beliefs and aiding the Russian army in targeting Ukrainian defenders with missile strikes. The traitor maintained contact with a former combatant of the so-called "DPR," who is currently part of the Russian Armed Forces. Communication with him took place via messaging apps, during which the soldier transmitted precise coordinates of Ukrainian units, positions of military equipment, and personal data of servicemen — surnames, phone numbers, and locations. The investigation revealed that the traitor provided information about the locations of units in the Cherkasy, Zhytomyr, Rivne regions, and Donetsk. As a result, the enemy was able to accurately target Ukrainian defense objects. According to data from the Bureau, after the coordinates were passed to the enemy, missile strikes were carried out on these targets, resulting in the deaths of Ukrainian military personnel. A particularly alarming fact is that the traitor deliberately refused any financial reward for his assistance, justifying his actions with the ideology of the aggressor country. The traitor was detained immediately after another instance of information transfer, just before the enemy launched a missile attack on one of the units in the Cherkasy region. While the traitor was on a business trip to another region, law enforcement officers conducted investigative actions at his place of residence and in the homes of his relatives. As a result, computer equipment, mobile phones, USB drives, hard disks, and other digital storage devices were seized, confirming his involvement in the crime. According to law enforcement officials, the sanction for the actions of the traitor, as qualified by law, entails very severe punishment — up to 15 years of imprisonment or life imprisonment with confiscation of property. The State Bureau of Investigation emphasizes that the investigation proved that the suspect transmitted military object coordinates to the enemy, specifically in the Cherkasy, Zhytomyr, Rivne, and Donetsk regions. The consequences of this activity were tragic — Ukrainian positions were hit by missile strikes, resulting in the deaths of servicemen. Currently, the detained individual has been officially charged with treason committed during wartime. The court has taken up his case and has chosen a preventive measure — detention without bail. Law enforcement units stress that incidents of this nature undermine the country’s defensive capacity and require maximum decisiveness in the fight against traitors, who, driven by their ideological allegiance, are willing to go to any lengths to assist the enemy and sow discord among Ukrainian military personnel and civilians.
