According to the latest data released by the Russian Ministry of Defense on Tuesday, from evening until morning, over 190 Ukrainian drones were detected and neutralized in several regions of the country. This became a significant alert for the Russian leadership and potential residents of cities and regions affected by the attacks. Official information states that over approximately 11 hours, from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m., 198 unmanned aerial reconnaissance and attack devices were shot down in the airspace over several key regions of Russia. Russian news agencies and media report that details of this operation remain quite limited, as during the night, only isolated incidents of air defense fire occurred, without large-scale reports of direct clashes or confirmed hits on targets. In particular, in Moscow, the capital city of the country, restrictions were imposed on airport operations. Official reports mentioned the closure of Moscow airports due to the threat of drone attacks, and significant changes took place in the work of airports in Kaluga, Tambov, and Nizhny Novgorod. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin confirmed in his statement that some drones were shot down before reaching their target — the city of Moscow — and that local air defense systems worked effectively. A particularly notable fact is the reports from the border Bryansk region. The regional governor, Alexander Bogomaz, confirmed that 43 drones trying to penetrate the region for reconnaissance or attack purposes were destroyed overnight. These figures indicate a high level of tension and activity among Ukrainian intelligence operatives in this sector of the front. Overall, against the backdrop of increasing activity by Ukrainian drones, Moscow continues to assert that it is adapting to new challenges and enhancing its air defenses. However, the regularity of events and the scale of attacks draw attention to the difficulties faced by the Russian security and defense systems in combating these new forms of warfare. Analysts warn that mass drone attacks may become a new reality for regions bordering Ukraine, and this trend appears to be intensifying based on secondary reports. Meanwhile, Russian military officials are withholding detailed comments and information about the progress of operations, making it difficult to assess the true scale and effectiveness of current national defense measures.
