Russian forces have once again launched an attack on Kherson, focusing on the Dniprovskyi district of the city, resulting in serious consequences for the civilian population
According to the latest reports, the number of those injured in this attack has increased to twenty people, including both adults and elderly individuals, highlighting the scale of the tragedy and the level of danger faced by residents of the region. Based on information received from the Kherson Regional Military Administration, injuries among civilians vary—from shrapnel wounds to blast injuries. All those affected are currently receiving medical assistance and undergoing necessary treatment. Specifically, a woman born in 1966 sought help at a hospital after sustaining shrapnel wounds to her torso and an explosive injury. Given the severity of her condition, she is currently under medical supervision but is in a stable condition suitable for outpatient treatment. Another victim is a 41-year-old resident of Kherson who was injured early in the morning during another drone attack on the district. He sustained an explosive injury and shrapnel wounds to his leg. However, he is also receiving outpatient care, and there is no immediate threat to his life or health. In addition to these two victims, four more individuals — three women aged 84, 50, and 62, and one man aged 58 — sought medical assistance. All of them have severe shrapnel damages and injuries caused by explosions. The doctors decided to hospitalize the 58-year-old man, while the other injured persons are currently being treated outpatient, receiving necessary care at home. This is already the fourth report in recent times about casualties in the Dniprovskyi district of Kherson as a result of Russian attacks using drones. Earlier reports indicated that 12 people were injured in a recent strike on a neighborhood. Overall, the situation remains tense, and city residents face daily risks of new strikes that destroy their lives and man-made environments. Eyewitness testimonies and official sources emphasize that Russia, employing lethal unmanned aerial vehicles, aims to intimidate the population and increase psychological pressure. Nevertheless, Ukrainian authorities and medics remain steadfast, dedicating all efforts to aid those affected and seeking ways to prevent further destruction. At the same time, the situation in the region remains tense due to regular shelling and the enemy’s ability to strike using modern drone weapons, creating serious risks for civilians and destroying infrastructure. Local residents are increasingly concerned about the escalation of missile and air attacks and the potential threats to their lives and property. Volunteers and local authorities organize assistance and attempt to implement security measures, but it is currently impossible to fully protect the city from these new threats. The troubling news from Kherson underscores the urgent need for greater international support and strengthening the country’s defensive capabilities to withstand the ongoing war, which shows no signs of stopping.
