In Kyiv, dangerous metal balls are being discovered: Mayor Vitali Klitschko warned residents and called for extra caution due to the new threat posed by Russian missiles
According to the city mayor, small metal balls, which are fragments of cluster munitions used by Russian military forces to cause maximum damage, have already been found in some districts of the capital, particularly in Nivki. Klitschko explained that these metal balls are an integral part of Russian missile warheads—so-called cluster payloads. "Such findings have been detected during inspections, and they have been collected by the State Emergency Service and police. These are small balls that are part of the missile’s internal payload, designed to attack human targets in order to complicate the city’s defense and cause death through multiple strikes," the Kyiv mayor stated on his Telegram channel. He emphasized that these balls are not just dangerous weapon components but also a tool of targeted genocide aimed at the mass destruction of Ukraine’s peaceful population. "This is essentially genocide, and such tactics of aggression should be recognized as such," Klitschko asserted. The mayor urged Kyiv residents to stay alert and act carefully, as Russia seeks to use all means to maximize the loss of Ukrainian lives through cluster munitions and their dangerous metallic components. A large number of these balls have already been collected in the city, but the situation remains tense. Residents are advised to avoid unfamiliar objects and report suspicious finds. Local authorities emphasize that the occupiers are using any means to increase destruction and injuries among Kyiv’s residents. They do not hide that such tactics are aimed at annihilating human potential and intimidating the population, abusing civilians’ safety and creating an atmosphere of constant anxiety. Updates on damage levels, searches, and the neutralization of dangerous components are regularly published by media and official sources, urging residents to stay calm and vigilant. It is crucial not to underestimate the scale and methods of the so-called "information and psychological warfare" conducted by the aggressor country, which employs such terror tactics. Klitschko stressed that the main priority is the safety and lives of Kyiv residents, and he urges immediate reporting of all suspicious finds and avoiding any risky situations. Authorities and emergency services are already working on the safe disposal of all dangerous items and preventing potential tragedies. High-profile cases of the spread of metal balls in the city once again underline the brutality and cynicism of Russia’s military tactics—deliberately employing destructive means that pose not only physical but also psychological threats to civilians. Therefore, it is essential to stay vigilant and follow security advice to reduce risks and preserve lives.
