According to Timur Tkachenkо, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, the number of people who may still be under the debris of the nine-story building varies between 4 and 14. Meanwhile, the precise number of casualties and those remaining inside is currently being established, as many residents are unresponsive and considered missing. Tkachenkо noted that the possible number of people under the ruins depends on how many lived there previously and were unable to escape. "It is currently difficult to determine an exact figure," he explained during a live telethon broadcast. "Last time, a fighter was found and extricated, unfortunately among the deceased; other individuals have not yet been located. We believe that there may be between 4 and 14 people under the debris, as this was the number of residents in this multi-story building who still have no contact." The head of the Kyiv City Military Administration added that after the rescue and debris removal operations are completed, a plan for further action regarding the damaged building will be developed. According to him, he believes this ruined residential complex is not suitable for restoration and a decision will be made to completely dismantle it, with subsequent individual or multi-apartment construction to prevent further tragedies and ensure residents' safety in the future. Meanwhile, Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko reported on the tragic consequences of the enemy's bombing campaign. He stated that during armed attacks across Ukraine on the night of June 17, over 139 people were injured. This number includes those wounded as well as several fatalities. Specifically, at least 15 victims have been reported so far as a result of Russian missile and drone strikes. The background of this tragic night is filled with dramatic details. According to Ukrainian authorities and official sources, the Russian forces' attacks escalated into a massive strike aimed at critical infrastructure and residential sectors of Kyiv. Explosions rang out in various districts of the city, causing extensive destruction and panic among residents. Operational data reports at least 14 victims in Kyiv and over 114 wounded. However, the actual figures are likely higher due to the complexity of assessing the destruction and rescuing victims. Rescue workers and volunteers are currently working under extremely intense conditions, clearing debris and carefully examining the damaged structures. It is noted that due to the widespread presence of fragments and body parts, the number of confirmed fatalities may change as medics and rescuers continue searching and identifying victims. This attack has been one of the most massive in recent months, once again demonstrating the scale and intensity of Russian aggressive pressure on Kyiv and the country's critical infrastructure. At the same time, authorities urge residents to remain cautious, stay in safe locations, and trust official reports, since the war is ongoing and the level of danger remains high. Amidst the tragic events, the government and social services emphasize the need for continued enhanced defense, support for the affected, and finding ways to gradually restore the destroyed districts of Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities. This undoubtedly underscores the high value of human life and the importance of international aid in the fight against Russian aggression.
